Get ready for some serious Suits flashbacks, Suitors.

August 20th’s episode “The Other Time” will see Harvey flashing back to when his Dad was alive and his simpler life working at the DA’s office.

Apparently, this uncharacteristic reminiscing of Harvey’s is brought on by Cameron’s continuing use of shady tactics on Ava’s case – which brings up memories of why he left the DA’s office to go work for Jessica in the first place.

Meanwhile, as Rachel visits law schools, Mike too looks back – on what cost him his one chance at a degree.

Flashbacks are the order of the day in Suits’ next episode.

“The Other Time” sees Harvey, uncomfortable with Cameron’s shady tactics on Ava’s case, flashing back to simpler times when his Dad was alive and he worked with Donna at the DA’s office.

Harvey’s flashback also seems to involve late nights with Donna, whiskey drinking and suggestions so filthy they have to be drawn on paper.

Why did these two never get together again?

USA NETWORK ORDERS FOURTH SEASON OF CAPTIVATING
HIT SERIES “SUITS”

CREATOR/SHOWRUNNER AARON KORSH SIGNS OVERALL DEAL WITH UNIVERSAL CABLE PRODUCTIONS

Drama Ranks Among Cable’s Top Five Scripted Series in P18-49 in Q3

NEW YORK – October 24, 2013 –  USA Network announced today a 16-episode fourth season renewal of the critically-acclaimed original drama SUITS.  Additionally, creator and showrunner Aaron Korsh has signed an overall deal with Universal Cable Productions to continue his work on SUITS and to develop new scripted series.

“As a leading cable drama, SUITS is at the top of its game and continues to grow in the key demographics, drawing a passionate, young and loyal audience,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network. “Aaron Korsh consistently pushes the boundaries of storytelling and the series promises to deliver a provocative fourth season.”

“From the beginning, we’ve seen SUITS as a long term player for the studio and we look forward to extending our relationship with Aaron. Harvey, Mike and the rest of the SUITScrew are characters that have created a dedicated and enthusiastic audience,” said Jeff Wachtel, President and Chief Content Officer, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and head of UCP.

In third quarter, SUITS was among the top 5 in P18-49 and the top 10 in P25-54 in all of TV’s primetime scripted series. The drama was the #1 scripted series on television, broadcast or cable, Tuesday nights among P18-49. The series centers on a fast-paced Manhattan corporate law firm led by legendary lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and his brilliant, but not-technically-legal associate Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams). From Universal Cable Productions, SUITS also stars Rick Hoffman (“Samantha Who”), Gina Torres (“Firefly”), Sarah Rafferty (“Brothers & Sisters”) and Meghan Markle (“CSI Miami”).

Season three of SUITS continues in first quarter 2014 following the Olympics, with the capitivating final six episodes, featuring guest star appearances by the most decorated Olympian of all-time, Michael Phelps (who happens to be a SUITS fan) and Gabriel Macht’s famous father, Stephen Macht (“The Monster Squad,” “General Hospital”).  Picking up in the wake of an emotional and shattering murder trial, Harvey (G. Macht) and Jessica (Torres) address the firm’s future, while Louis (Hoffman) threatens to expose the truth about Mike (Adams).

The entire series to-date will be available for binge viewing via video-on-demand and TVEverywhere leading up to the mid-season premiere this winter.

This season, USA broke new digital ground as it rolled out innovative social and digital engagements including second screen syncs for every episode. Leading into the premiere, USA was the first network to partner with Tinder, a social discovery app, which introduced SUITS characters into people’s match stream. This generated a recording-setting half a million matches in four weeks. The network also rolled out a new chapter of the award-winning Suits Recruits, an interactive, multi-platform social game. Suitors engaged in record numbers with the legal sequel Suits Recruits: Class Action, which showed an increase of 76% in uniques and 81% in visits from last year.

From Universal Cable Productions, SUITS was created and is executive produced by Aaron Korsh (“The Deep End”). Doug Liman (COVERT AFFAIRS, the “Bourne” trilogy, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”) and David Bartis (COVERT AFFAIRS, “The O.C.”) of Hypnotic also serve as executive producers and Gene Klein (COVERT AFFAIRS) serves as co-executive producer.  SUITS is shot on location in Toronto, ON.

10 Things to Know About Suits Mid Season Return

$

0

When we last checked in on Suits, emotions were running at an all time high for just about everyone.

Ava Hessignton’s murder trial was finally laid to rest, along with the rest of the British contingent and Donna’s too-good-to-be-true affair with Stephen Huntley. Goodbye Darby and co. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. We were getting a little tired of hearing “Ava Hessington IS Hessington oil!” anyway.

Meanwhile, Jessica and Harvey kissed and made up after Jessica agreed to let go of her anger and Harvey admitted that having his name on the wall wasn’t quite all it was cracked up to be. Harvey and Scottie set sail on tentative romanic waters, following his deeply non-commital and decidedly luke-warm “I care about you” overture.  (Aw, Harvey, you shouldn’t have. No really.) Mike and Rachel also kissed and made up, a decision made all the easier for Mike with Rachel’s decision not to pursue her law degree at Stanford, but at the much closer-to-Mike Columbia.

Perhaps most importantly though, Louis and Sheila also kissed and made up, an act which fortuitously presented Louis with the opportunity to peep into the personal histories of the Harvard graduates. We giggled at Harvey’s hair, then squirmed when Louis failed to find Mike’s file. What does it all mean? Does Louis realize Mike never attended Harvard? Will his newfound goodwill towards Harvey (let’s never forget that “I respect you Louis” speech earlier this season) be washed away in his desire to out Harvey’s protege? Will the revelation affect Rachel’s future, given that Jessica strong-armed her into signing an affidavit confirming she was aware of Mike’s fraudulent position at the firm? So many questions! But also so many answers to your questions!

We’ve screened the first handful of remaining episodes from the show’s third season, and while we refuse to spoil you outright with facts that could ruin your enjoyment of what’s to come, we can testify under oath that:

1. Louis is Indeed Gunning for Mike

Don’t expect Louis to be too conflicted where Mike is concerned. Louis’ love of the law trumps his love of … just about everything else. The first two episodes will keep fans on tenterhooks as Louis searches for the real truth about Mike, while Donna, Harvey and Rachel do their utmost to stop him exposing Mike as a fraud.

2. Mike and Rachel Will Take Further Steps to Cement their Relationship

OMG, they’re adorable. We support whatever they do. And wherever they choose to do it. As long as Mike leaves that armchair behind.

3. Donna Remains Unshaken

It’s no secret we love Donna, and if you do too then you’ll be happy to learn she’s on top form (Stephen who?) in these episodes to come. Expect zingers, double-dealing, performance theater (we kid you not) and candid comments from Pearson-Specter’s most irrepressible PA, including her frank assessment of Harvey and Scottie’s relationship.

4. Harvey’s in Love

We mentioned above that this new season sees Harvey I-Want-You-In-My-Life Specter setting sail on romantic waters with Scottie – despite just about everyone’s belief that things will end badly between them. We’re not sure if it’s his choice of highly impersonal gift or the fact he accidentally makes Scottie feel like a prostitute in “Buried Secrets” but we’re kinda with the guys on this one. Don’t mix business with pleasure, Harvey.

5. Jessica’s Conflicted

Check out the second episode back “Yesterday’s Gone” for an emotional episode where Jessica is concerned. Her actions may surprise you, but the outcome may surprise you even more as it includes a tender gesture from Harvey.

 6. What Does Mike Do when Left Alone with Large Quantities of Bubble-wrap?

Make bubble-wrap hats and matching slippers of course. He even made some for Rachel too, although we don’t think she’ll be modelling them any time soon.

7. Famous Guest Stars …

… including Michael Phelps. The Olympic swimmer guests in the mid season premiere “Buried Secrets” playing himself, and cooly rejecting Harvey’s attempts to land him as a client. Scottie to the rescue?

Michael Phelps. Image © Shane Mahood/USA Network

Michael Phelps. Image © Shane Mahood/USA Network

Also of note is guest star Stephen Macht (TV and film veteran and also Gabriel Macht’s real life father) who will first appear in “Yesterday’s Gone” as Gerard, a no nonsense legal ethics professor from Harvard. You know, the one who gave Mike an A+ in his final exam. Except he didn’t? Expect Gerard and Harvey to butt heads. Spectacularly.

8. Mike’s Next Case

Mike’s first case back is an incredibly personal one that not only brings back some deeply unpleasant memories for him but some startling revelations too. The result? One very much off his game lawyer. Of course, Harvey shows support … by bringing peanuts to Mike’s deposition. This is why we love you Harvey Specter.

9. What are You Wearing?

While we would unashamedly watch Suits each week purely to see what Jessica, Donna and Rachel are wearing, it’s Harvey’s turn to raise some eyebrows with his choice of nighttime attire in the mid season premiere. Is that really what Harvey wears to bed?

10. Friendship, Trust and Honesty. Oh My!

If the first half of the season could be described as factious then the episodes going forward find our characters in a warmer and more congenial space. They may spend a lot of time reminding each other about the core values of friendship, trust and honesty, but from where we’re sitting, they don’t need to. We can see it clearly, perhaps for the first time this season.

It’s no secret that Donna (Sarah Rafferty) has been through the emotional wringer this season on USA’s Suits.

Not only did her boyfriend turn out to be a SPOILER (for our friends in the UK) but by electing to remain Harvey’s (Gabriel Macht) go to girl, she’s found herself firmly sidelined in the friend zone while the normally romance-phobic Harvey sets sail on romantic waters with Scottie (Abigail Spencer).

2 Suits Sneak Peeks: Mike Gets Litt Up in “Yesterday’s Gone”

Oh dear. It seems Louis (Rick Hoffman) is unable to let go of his suspicions surrounding the authenticity of Mike’s (Patrick J. Adams) Harvard degree.

Suits March 13 episode “Yesterday’s Gone” will see Louis’ misgivings cemented when he learns that Mike received an A+ in Ethics from professor Gerard (Gabriel Macht’s real life father and guest star Stephen Macht) while at Harvard.

The problem? No one receives an A+ from the notoriously exacting Gerard – not even the brilliant Mr Ross.

Has Mike come so far only to be caught by such a trifling detail? It certainly looks like it, especially when Louis insists that Mike and Gerard should get reacquainted later in the week.

After all, the famously stringent Harvard professor should remember his star pupil, right?

It looks like Mike just got Litt up!

In a second just-released clip Jessica and Harvey discuss Jessica’s inability to keep her cool around her ex-husband’s wife and a case that hits very close to home.

Suits airs Thursday March 13 9/8c on USA.

Mike (Patrick J. Adams) is feeling more than a little grateful following last week’s episode of Suits in which his carefully guarded secret almost became public knowledge, thanks to Louis (Rick Hoffman).

However, the day came and went and Mike is still working at Pearson Spector, thanks in part to Harvey’s (Gabriel Macht) firm “not today” attitude.

And who should Mike ask about the best gift imaginable? Donna (Sarah Rafferty), naturally.
