It looks like things are about to get ugly all round.

Suits Sneak Peek: Are the Cracks Starting to Show Between Mike and Rachel?

Nothing stays the same for very long on Suits – not even those names on the wall – which is one of the reasons we love this show so much.

But now it seems there’s trouble in paradise where Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Rachel’s (Meghan Markle) relationship is concerned. Say it isn’t so!

It’s not just those demanding 16 hour days that are taking a toll on Rachel’s enthusiasm. It looks like Mike’s duplicitous dealings with Louis are not something she takes lightly.  (We all know Rachel’s soft spot for Louis. We have one too!)

Despite Mike’s reasoning, there’s something here that doesn’t quite sit right. Could this be the beginning of the end for Pearson Spector’s hottest couple?

Suits returns with “Leveraged” Wednesday 9/8c on USA Network.

POUND OF FLESH

Things are getting uncomfortably close between RACHEL and Pearson Specter client LOGAN SANDERS, and the stress at work, school and home threatens to derail her. LOUIS helps DONNA prepare for the role of a lifetime – and she helps him face a lifelong fear. HARVEY and MIKE agree to a temporary ceasefire, but SEAN CAHILL turns up the heat when he accuses them of collusion. And Mike learns just how ruthless his new business partner really is.

LITT THE HELL UP

When SEAN CAHILL brings Pearson Specter client LOGAN SANDERS in to the SEC for questioning, HARVEY tries to put an end to the Gillis Industries takeover. But when MIKE continues to play hardball, LOUIS sees an opportunity to make a name for himself by saving the day. Meanwhile, RACHEL must contend with the fallout of a moment of weakness.

Via USA Network, we’ve got some scoop and images to share from Suits upcoming July 30 instalment.

Rather ominously titled “We’re Done” the episode will find Mike reeling in the wake of the Gillis Industries takeover battle, his investment banking career apparently over almost as quickly as it began.

When Rachel delivers even more troubling news, Mike makes a rash decision, leaving Haarvey as the last friend to whom he can turn.

Meanwhile, in recognition of Louis’ victory for the firm, Jessica lets him name his own reward – but choosing what to ask for proves more complicated than Louis first expects.

We’ve got some first details and images to share from the series’ upcoming August 6 episode.

Rumor has it that “Exposure” will see Mike returned to Pearson Specter, but with barely the time to savor it – he’s back to working shoulder-to-shoulder with Rachel, in the wake of her confession about Logan. Uncomfortable much?

Meanwhile, Jessica and Harvey try to outmaneuver the relentless Sean Cahill, as he goes after the firm’s files on the Gillis Industries takeover.

And Louis struggles to hide the illicit deal he made to win that fight; evidence of which will bury the firm.

Don’t get exposed, Wednesday, August 6 on USA Network (9-10 p.m. ET).

TV REVIEW: Suits “I’m Done” (Are Harvey and Mike Done?)

$

0

This season Suits has put the viewer in an uncomfortable position, one where we must choose between our two children, Team Harvey and Team Mike. When the two went to battle over Gillis Industries, they both sank to new lows, going for the jugular to win. In “I’m Done” we have our dynamic duo back where we want them, Louis is typical Louis, Rachel is weepier than ever, and Jessica may have met her match. Let’s take a look.

Rachel May Faint Again

Did anyone else think another trip to the hospital was coming for Rachel? She was in full panic, guilt, sad-face mode all episode. The consequences of kissing Logan came down on her when she didn’t take Donna’s advice to bury it. Mike has been fired, but he’s making the best of it by making the one awesome thing he can cook, spaghetti sauce. He’s in a great mood because he’s decided all he needs is love. He’s turned down the Forstman million dollar offer, and he’s in love. All this sweet talk makes Rachel come clean admitting that “Logan and I kissed. We were just talking and…” Our tongues collided? She says she’s sorry and “It didn’t mean anything.” Mike storms off. One guess at where he’s heading.

He goes straight to Logan’s house where they can fight it out over Rachel. You know Logan’s going to aim low and he does, hitting below the belt with “She didn’t just like it, she loved it.” The fight’s a draw with both a little battered.

When Rachel goes to work the next day, Mike is waiting for her. He demands to know what happened. “Did it mean something or not?” Rachel says, “It meant something when it happened, but now…” Mike says, “We’re done!” and storms off again.

Weepy Rachel is crying in the copy room with Louis comforting her and giving her some advice. He unloads some Litt-wisdom saying, “When two people love each other, no problem is insurmountable.”

Rachel calls bullshit, citing the Sheila/Louis split as proof that love does not conquer all.

Louis changes strategies telling her that “you have so much going for you.” Thank God he didn’t add “there are plenty of fish in the sea” or “you have a great personality.” I feel like he’s already got those printed on mugs in his office.

Rachel definitely has some thinking to do. She declares her undying love for Mike, but she really did seem to like the kiss with Logan as it was happening.

Louis Picks the Prize

Jessica goes to Louis saying she and Harvey are proud parents with how he handled Forstman. He answers with typical Litt, “I’m impressed that you understand how impressive it was.” She says he gets to pick his reward. Louis immediately goes with wanting to be a named partner, with his name on the door. She says try again. He enlists Katrina’s help in crafting a prize worthy of his epic win.

Louis finally decides on amending his contract to allow for telecommuting whenever he deems it appropriate, a month’s more vacation, and his partnership protected. He admits he’s going to win Sheila back and he’ll need these things in his arsenal.

Jessica says just because named partner isn’t happening now doesn’t mean it won’t ever happen. Way to string our Litt-man along, Jess.

Harvey Tries to Save the Day

Harvey does everything he can think of to help out Mike, even going to John Sidwell to get his young protege’s job back. John’s not biting, saying “If you think he’s so great, take him back there with you.”

Harvey tries that next. He talks to Jessica who shoots down the Mike rehiring with “This is not a conversation I ever want to have” adding that she sleeps better with Mike gone.

Meanwhile, Donna approaches Harvey, asking him to talk to Mike about the whole Rachel cheating thing. Harvey says there is no way he’s getting in the middle of that, apparently relationship coach not on the resume. He adds that if he did get involved, “it sure as shit wouldn’t be to defend her.”

He second-guesses himself later and does have “the talk” with Mike telling him “I admire what you have with Rachel. It’s real. I think you should go home.”

Logan Gets Dumped – Twice

Rachel finds Logan in her office thinking that he’s just had another win. He says, “You told him because deep down inside you want to be with me and you knew this would make it happen.” Rachel denies it, saying, “There is no us. There will never be an us. We’re done.”

Later, Harvey lands the fatal blow telling Logan that he’s signing papers at 8 a.m. and then he’ll be gone by 8:01. Donna watches the dumping, looking mightily impressed. Hmmm, flowers for Donna a couple of weeks ago when she performed in that play, now berating Logan in front of the red head. Let’s hope a love blast from the past could be coming our way.

Jessica and Jeff Sitting in a Tree

Jeff is furious to discover that Jessica is the one who ordered Louis to check on his work. He confronts his boss saying they should keep things strictly professional from now on. In a very un-Jessica like move, she apologizes to him (as much as she can without using the S word). She says, “I don’t want to lose you over some stupid work bullshit.” Jeff forgives her but warns, “Please don’t do stupid work bullshit.”

Someone who can go toe to toe with boss lady without backing down may just be the thing to loosen up the buttoned up lawyer. Here’s for more Jessica happiness and loose buttons.

Louis Gets a Prize Re-do

Louis goes to Forstman to get some final papers signed in the Gillis deal. The billionaire is the one with something up his sleeve telling Litt that he needs a guarantee that the illegal ‘avoiding taxes maneuvering’ will remain their little secret. He gives Louis money for the deal ensuring that both their hands are dirty.

As Louis leaves, he runs into Mike who’s going to accept the Forstman job offer. Louis says no way you are working with Satan himself. He’s got an idea.

He gets Jessica and Harvey in the conference room telling them he wants to retract his last reward. Instead, he wants Mike back and has already offered him a job. Harvey says, “It’s a great choice. I’m proud of you.” Jessica is left stunned, but agreeing to the reward because Harvey points out that Litt will figure out Mike’s secret if she refuses. Looks like some sleepless nights are ahead, Jessica.

Rachel and Mike Not Sitting in a Tree

Mike takes Harvey’s advice and goes home for a little while. Rachel is hopeful saying, “You’re home.” Mike says it’s only for a few minutes while he gets some of his things together. He needs to stay somewhere else for a while. Mike may be backtracking a little on the “we’re done” statement, leaving a little opening for a future reconciliation.

He’ll be back at Pearson Spector in the morning, making for some awkward work encounters.

What did you think of “We’re Done”?

Will Mike and Rachel find their way back to each other? Is Jeff man enough to handle Jessica? Will Harvey finally get a little love this season? Are we done with Forstman or is he gearing up for a fresh attack?

Suits airs Wednesdays on USA Network at 9:00 pm.

Best Lines of the Night:

Louis quoting the “Bible”… “Let any man judge me, so says the good book…I think I know what the goddamn good book says!”

Louis to a waiter, “Hey, jerk off. Who do I have to blow to get some more nuts?”

Katrina reassuring Louis with, “You’re not horrible. You’re Harvey.”

Harvey says to Mike, “All I am to you anymore is a clean set of sheets.”

Forstman tells Louis to take his deal or “go back to writing in your diary about what a loser Harvey Specter thinks you are.”

TV REVIEW: Suits “Exposure” Rights the Ship

“Welcome home, sailor,” says Donna to welcome back non-Harvard grad Mike in a Suits episode that had long time fans drooling a little in anticipation. After last week’s Mike-firing and Pearson Specter-rehiring, we knew what to expect with “Exposure”… no surprise with the prodigal son returning. Oh, but it was still thrilling that Marvey was back together, ready to do battle against this season’s bad guy, SEC pitbull Sean Cahill. Louis was a man on the run, Rachel whined her way back into Mike’s good graces, and Harvey and Mike still looked mighty fine in their suits. Here’s what was exposed this week.

Reunited and It Feels So Good

Mike is back! After weeks of Mike/Harvey hate, it was fun to have the Suits’ dream team back together, working on creative, shady maneuverings like the good old days. These two perhaps invented the word “bromance” and it felt like all was right with the world as they practically finished each other’s sentences.

Mike shows up back at Pearson Specter, greeted by Donna who shows him to his new office. He complains that some guy with a soul patch is stationed where he used to be. Donna asks if he’s even capable of growing a soul patch. He says, “I had a goatee my sophomore year of…never.”  She says, “You’re not even here five minutes and you’re already a pain in my ass.” Just like old times.

He has a fancy new office with his name beveled on the glass door. Harvey tells him it was his old office. “It’s good to have you back where you belong.”

Breaking Up Is Hard to Do

Mike and Rachel are still broken up. Mike’s staying in a hotel while Rachel is having a slumber party with therapist Donna. The redhead tells her exactly what to do to get Mike back, “Walk in with your head held high, give him space. Let things be. They’ll turn out the way they’re supposed to.” Rachel isn’t buying it, so Donna confesses that she slept with Harvey a long time ago. It seems strange that she would make the leap from offering some advice to revealing this deep, dark secret to Rachel. They didn’t end up together, so what would be the motivation? Donna even admits she wanted to try for a relationship but he wasn’t ready. Rachel looks more unconvinced than ever.

Rachel spends the rest of “Exposure” doing the exact opposite of what Donna suggested. She goes to his office, acting all flirty and nice, talking about the “handsome” new lawyer they hired. He cuts that off with “I’m trying to avoid having a conversation with you, which is not working.” Rachel lies that Harvey has her working on the same case, so that’s why she’s there. Mike says he needs space and rushes off.

Donna reprimands Rachel for talking to Mike and lying about Harvey assigning her to the case. In the weasel move of the night, Rachel throws the ‘Harvey night of sex we wish could be a flashback in every episode’ back in Donna’s face. Oh no you didn’t! Rachel has gotten to be such a weepy, wishy washy character, I have to admit that part of me wants Mike to say adios to her for good. She says she’s going to fight for him, damn you Donna advice. Donna answers with, “Fight for him all you want but don’t lie about Harvey ever again.”

Later, to show she never gives up, Rachel finds Mike alone and admits she lied about being assigned the same case. She says how sorry she is again. Mike says, “All I can think when I look at you is him.” He says he needs to get that image out of his head. He rushes off again leaving Rachel devastated.

I Walk the Line

Louis, Louis, Louis … walking the fine line between success and failure, between hero and goat, between legal and illegal. We all knew that the illegal Forstman avoiding taxes deal that our Litt-man worked out would come back to bite him. We just hoped it wouldn’t be fatal. Tonight, Louis had his hands full trying to make sure his deal with the devil would never be discovered. First, he tries to literally bury the damning Forstman document in piles of old files and paperwork in the storage room.

Next, he talks to Mike and says he needs his help. Mike says he working on the Cahill thing for Harvey, and Louis has a conniption acting like a crazy lunatic, even for Louis.  Panic sets in as he gets Katrina to try to cover his tracks. He pays a visit to Forstman who has no interest in making the illegal deal go away. Forstman says the only way the Louis nightmare will end is if he re-writes all the paperwork and have Harvey sign it. He wants Louis to frame Harvey. Louis tells Katrina and she doesn’t seem against the idea.  He says no way. New strategy, make sure Harvey wins that motion to block the SEC from getting all the files.

Stayin’ Alive (Barely)

Louis works throughout “Exposure” to keep his head above water, working to keep Sean Cahill in the dark about his illegal dealings.

Sean Cahill is not having it. He’s like a bloodhound – one who’s caught the scent of some Louis Litt red stuff. He’s turned into one of the best Suits’ villains that we kinda love to hate, mainly because his one liners go toe-to-toe with Harvey’s.

The SEC baddie shows up with a search warrant for all the Gillis Industry files. Harvey and Jessica go to the judge handling the case who revokes the search warrant. The pair realize that the man is never giving up. Jessica says why don’t you and Mike get us the hell out of this.

Cahill’s next tactic is to get Mike to give him all the files on Gillis for immunity, making a comment about his hotel stay. Mike turns him down and runs to tell Harvey about the proposition and about a new idea. He figures out that Cahill is guilty of unauthorized surveillance, so that will be their new strategy in getting Cahill’s request for files thrown out. They confront him in court, and the judge sides with our dynamic duo. They win, but not really. Cahill has a Logan card up his sleeve. Logan Sanders is now working with Cahill, requesting all documents regarding communications between Harvey and Mike be released.

Louis declares temporary victory (because It can only be temporary with Louis) when he discovers that the order to release files doesn’t include any pertaining to Forstman. He walks into Katrina’s office, finger on his neck, saying, “Guess what this is? The resting heart rate of a happy man.” They almost hug it out.

If Suits has taught us anything, it’s that Louis can never stay on top for long.  Harvey ends up voluntarily handing over ALL the files (including the Forstman ones) because he thinks they have nothing to hide. Louis realizes the gig is up and is ready to give up. Not so fast, Katrina has one more idea… she hands him a document that makes it seem like the Cayman thing never happened. It’ll be forgery, not framing, so that makes it alright, right?

Mike sees Louis looking like he just saw Sheila with Lorenzo Lamas and asks if everything’s okay. Just peachy, Mikey.

I Will Always Love You

Rachel grows a partial backbone and confronts Mike back at his hotel room. She tells him, “You’ll never completely get it out of your head.” He knows exactly what she’s talking about.  Tess, his old girlfriend – the one Rachel saw having sex with Mike. Rachel says, “My image isn’t made up. I got over it without getting rid of it. Forgiveness doesn’t work that way. I made a mistake. I want you to decide if you love me more than you hate what I did. If you don’t I want you to tell me it’s over. If you do, then I want you to come home.” She leaves. By the end of the episode, Mike leaves the office. He changes his mind going back up to Rachel’s office and gives her a small smile and head nod. All is forgiven?

Help!

Mike knows something’s up with Mr. Litt. He talks to Harvey about Louis’ strange behavior which how Mike can differentiate normal Louis behavior with strange Louis behavior is a mystery we may never solve. “I think he cut some sort of deal with Forstman.”

“I’m gonna find out what the hell Louis did,” says Harvey storming off to see Louis. Harvey and Louis slo-mo walk to each other’s offices, missing each other in the labyrinth that is Pearson Specter.

Louis ends up going to Jessica. “I made a huge mistake,” he tells her.

Wow, Louis admitting to a mistake, finally done with trying to cover it up. This may be the best decision Louis has ever made as a lawyer, maybe the best decision he’s made in life. We’ll have to see if the team rallies behind their inspirational mug giving friend or if they offer him up as a sacrificial lamb to slaughter.

What did you think of our dynamic duo back in action fighting Sean Cahill? Do you think Louis will slither out of this mess in one piece?

Jessica tells Mike good job. Thank you for taking me back. Why the hell did you come back? It doesn’t matter why. What matters is that I’m staying. This is where I belong.

Suits airs Wednesdays on USA Network at 9:00 pm

Best Lines of the Week

  • Jessica tells Cahill, “Who do you think’s gonna get the job done faster? You and those two windbreakers or Bonnie and Clyde?”
  • Katrina welcomes Mike back with, “Somebody had to pick up your slack while you were shittin’ the bed on Wall Street.”  Mike retaliates with, “Which is why it’s good to be back here where there’s a shitty lawyer like you to make me look good.” Yes, this is definitely where you belong, Mike.
  • Mike tells Harvey about the Cahill offer, “Guess who just got propositioned by a striking blonde?” Harvey: “Please tell me it was Kate Upton.”
Mike: “Isn’t she a little young for you?” Harvey: “Last night she told me I was the perfect age.” Mike: “To be her father.”  The boys are back!
  • Cahill and Harvey going at it. Cahill greets them with, “Well if it isn’t the Wonder Twins, form of Douchebag.”  Harvey counters with, “Shape of gotcha by the balls.”

USA Network’s Suits has been renewed for a fifth season, it was announced today.

The series, which airs its mid-season finale on August 20, will return for another 16 episodes from 2015.

Suits continues to fire on all cylinders, delivering provocative storytelling and complex characters that viewers can’t get enough of,” Chris McCumber, President of USA Network commented today. “With some of the best writing on television, and a brilliant ensemble cast, we anticipate a spectacular fifth season for a series that has become a marquee property for USA.”

Suits centers on a fast-paced Manhattan corporate law firm led by legendary lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht).

This season saw a major shift at the firm that left Harvey at odds with his brilliant, but not-technically-legal associate Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) who left to head to Wall Street as an investment banker.  As the series builds to its summer finale, Mike has returned to Pearson Specter to resume his place beside Harvey, but Louis’ (Rick Hoffman) secret threatens to unravel the firm.

The series also stars Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty and Meghan Markle.

Seasons one through three of Suits can be found on Amazon Prime while fans can catch up on the fourth season via video-on-demand.

Suits Star Gina Torres Talks Formidable Foils & Getting The Band Back Together

The potential fall out from the Suits summer finale easily made it the biggest cliffhanger in the series’ history.

Pearson Specter has gone through as many ordeals as name changes and while it’s managed to come out on top (in one form or another), Louis Litt’s last maneuver might have left Jessica and Harvey without a proper counter.

Litt’s ultimatum — make him partner or he exposes Mike and the firm — made “This Is Rome” a fitting title for the mid-season finale. The very same could be said for Suits winter premiere, “Enough is Enough.”

Louis has come to Jessica Pearson bearing levels of wrath that could rival Khan’s. And Jessica, best known for her unshakable grace, is now faced with a worst case scenario. With the fate of her firm and her people at stake, how far will Jessica, Harvey and the others go to protect it all? Will she put an end to Litt’s demands or cave to the threats?

ScreenSpy sat down with Gina Torres, the talented actress behind Pearson Specter’s reigning queen Jessica Pearson, to talk what her character and the firm are facing in the episodes ahead.

ScreenSpy: Jessica has faced quite a few challenges at Pearson Specter and for the most part she’s managed to stand strong and deal smart. Will we see the same tactical and unweilding Jessica as before in these upcoming episodes or could the nature of what Louis is holding over her head reveal a chink in her armor?

Gina Torres: Well, look. If it ain’t broke… [laughing] Jessica is still Jessica, so she’s certainly going to try to Jessica her way out of these situations.

She’s dealing with a formidable foil. They are fighting with Louis and he’s very formidable, not because he’s such a good chess player. Because he’s so frickin’ emotional. He feels things so deeply. Jessica is very cool headed about it, but when you have twenty years of whatever it is that Louis is going through — like the last ten years of wanting to be in the in-crowd, wanting to be equals with Harvey, wanting to be Jessica’s pet, wanting to be Harvey’s best friend — and then he’s confronted with this betrayal, how he deals with that is really, really explosive. It’s not pretty.

So how do you deal with that, how do you work around that? The good news is that it’s not the first time that Jessica’s dealing with this particular aspect of Louis’ personality. I think we’re gonna be ok, but I’m not sure. Sometimes you can’t go back.

SS: By the nature of the show, every decision the firm makes affects character relationships. How will this decision regarding Louis affect Jessica’s relationships? Can we expect it to move her closer to or farther from anyone going forward?

GT: Yes… [Laughing] Yes. See, here’s the thing about Jessica from my experience with her and the way things have gone thus far. She puts the firm first. Sometimes to her detriment. It’s what is equally infuriating and equally noble, depending on where you’re standing at the time. She has a job to do, she has people to support, she has a firm to keep afloat.

Some people will look at it as being incredibly selfish and calculating. Some people might choose to look at it — like myself — as she ends up sacrificing a lot. It isn’t often that we really explore the nature and the blow back, and the consequences, of the choices she makes. Very often the choices that she makes means that she has to drop something so that she can continue moving forward. We are gonna see some of that.

SS: Mike’s secret is a foundation plot point for the show so it feels safe to assume the Louis issue won’t be cleared up in one episode. How long should viewers expect that to play out, specifically when it comes to Jessica’s storyline? Will she be all about Litt for this next set of episodes?

GT: It’s really all about recuperating. Re-shuffling, recuperating and finding our footing again as a cohesive law firm. Where do we all zig and zag together. You know, putting the band back together [laughing]. And it’s complicated. There are a lot of relationships. Every relationship on this show is going to go through a major shift and it’s really one of the reasons why I love the show. It’s not case of the week. We have a case of the season, and that’s all there and played so we can continue to pretend that we’re a law show [laughing]. But it’s really about — as I’ve said before, the heart of this show lies within the writers’ ability to see relationships in all of their glory and all of their ugly.

When you care about somebody you have to care about all of them. The thing about [the characters] is that we often choose to love each other despite how magnificently flawed we are. That’s saying something, especially in this era where everything is disposable. It’s not just about plastic bottles, but also how we treat the people in our lives. We just don’t want to work that hard or to take on somebody else’s stuff. What I love about this show is that we are forced to take responsibility for our actions and look at other people’s stuff.

SS: A flashback episode has been teased and fans are eager to see what many of their favorite characters were once like — and perhaps a little bit about how they became the people they are now. What can you tell us about Jessica’s presence in that episode?

GT: It’s really about Harvey. It’s kind of Harvey’s flashback episode and for Mike as well. And Louis. The flashback happens during the course of a road trip that the boys take together, so while they’re on this road trip each one of them flashes back to a pivotal point in their lives. It’s a fun episode.

SS: If you could use three words to describe Jessica’s journey over these next 6 episodes, what would those be?

GT: Oh, god [laughing].] Well, I’d have to say… the crown weighs heavy on the queen’s head.

SS: On a slighty different note, you very recently guested on Revenge as Natalie Walsh and your turn was a treat to watch. Can we expect to see you again when the show returns in March?

GT: Oh that’s what’s happening? [laughing]. My first episode premiered last Sunday, right? And then they’re going on a hiatus for the next month. Yeah, you’ll see me.

Catch the Suits winter premiere tonight at 10/9c on USA Network.

Just about everyone at Pearson Specter thinks respect is a little thin on the ground lately, and it looks like Suits Feb. 4th’s episode will see that trend continue, as not only the channels of respect, but of ethics also, get a little blurry.

Meanwhile, Louis (Rick Hoffman) is assigned to wine and dine a socialite CEO, only to discover it won’t be the simple babysitting job he anticipates.
