Mike will find himself in the awkward position of having to team up with Jack Soloff to co-counsel a case, in Suits’ August 5 episode.

Curiously, despite the situation (which will come at Jessica’s behest), and their history together, the two will come to a surprising understanding, according to the latest from USA Network.

As Jack (John Pyper-Ferguson) made his first appearance in the second episode of the current season, we’re not altogether sure of what Mike’s ‘history’ with the snarky senior partner refers to.

Could it be the fraught Harvey/Jack/Louis salary debacle? (We know Mike would instantly take Harvey’ side.) Or does Mike have a longer previous relationship with Jack that we’re not privy to just yet? Cue flashbacks!

Meanwhile, for all those wondering if we’ve seen the last of the vivacious Esther Litt (Amy Acker), wonder no more!

Louis’ sister will make a return to Pearson Specter Litt in order to solve a problem discreetly, says the Network. But as we already know, Louis rarely handles anything quietly – especially when it comes to family. Expect to see some Litt sparks fly this week.

And as for Donna and Harvey? We’ll see them attempt to get their friendship back to normal. However, a spanner will be thrown in the works when Harvey has a hard time stomaching some of Donna’s “friendly advice.”

Harvey, Harvey, Harvey. When are you going to learn?

“Hitting Home” airs Wednesday, August 5 (9-10 p.m. ET) on USA Network.

We’ve got first look images from the episode in our gallery below.

SUITS Review: “Toe to Toe” Slings the Mud

By Lewis Richards

The return of Harvey’s old adversary Travis Tanner unearthed an intense rivalry this week on USA Network’s Suits, as the episode title “Toe to Toe” suggests.

The episode begins with a morning-after sequence showing Donna in Harvey’s bed. Moments later, we see that Tanner has replaced Harvey, and we realize it’s all a dream sequence. Harvey is then revealed to be in Dr. Agard’s office explaining what happened. However, he chooses to leave out the identity of the woman in his dream. Donna has been forgiven, but clearly not forgotten. Harvey blames the current case he has involving Tanner for the dream, as we know Tanner is one of the few people that can push Harvey’s buttons like no one else.

Harvey aims to enlist Mike in the war on Tanner and claims it will be “just like old times.” Mike, though wary of Harvey’s current condition, decides to join the fight. Knowing of Tanner’s potentially brutal approach, Harvey decides to launch a  pre-emptive strike.

Louis is keen to thank Donna for helping him make amends with Harvey and offers to take her mudding. He is disappointed when she declines the invitation. After making progress with Harvey, Louis wants to further prove his loyalty to Harvey by reversing the company’s compensation structure to its original policy.

Donna helps Louis engineer a plan to get Jack Soloff to reverse the compensation policy. Louis aims to persuade Jack with a share of business in signing a big name client and asks Rachel to compile a list of suitable corporate merger deals that he can close.

Harvey and Tanner go “toe to toe” in the conference room but who is the real villain? As Harvey goes in to the meeting all guns blazing, Tanner claims he has no ulterior motives and just wants to make an offer. He does however threaten to retaliate to any low blows that Harvey might plan on dealing.

Harvey reveals this in his therapy and stands by his decision to fight dirty against Tanner while Dr. Agard suggests Harvey’s desire for conflict is a distraction from his own personal issues. Tanner retaliates by blindsiding Harvey and Mike with a loophole in his client, Alyssa Lang’s contract and then counter attacks with a sexual harassment allegation against Harvey’s client, Tim Petrov. A furious Tim tells Harvey to earn his money and “destroy” Alyssa.

Louis and Rachel meanwhile have trouble finding a suitable client to sign. Louis, now desperate, decides that all he needs to do is convince Jack he has signed a big name, even if he hasn’t. Louis cleverly hatches a plan to meet John Delmore in front of Jack and appear to close a deal with him. A seemingly impressed Jack agrees to reverse the policy.

Elsewhere, Mike illegally confronts Alyssa to try and get Tanner fired. Mike assumes it was his idea to go after Tim with a sexual assault claim but is shocked to find out it was Alyssa’s idea, and realizes Tanner may himself have genuinely changed for the better. Mike goes to Harvey who has come up with his own solution to the problem by going after Alyssa and sending her to prison. Mike questions whether Harvey truly wants to go down that road.

A thankful Louis wants a celebratory mud and tries to schmooze Rachel into joining him, again be met with a decline. Louis asks for Jessica’s support in his proposal after believing he has convinced Jack to reverse the compensation policy. Happy that Louis is confident she gives him permission to speak on her behalf. In the board meeting Jack does a U-turn, betraying Louis at the last moment and freezing all policy changes for 12 months, revealing he saw through Louis scheme from the beginning.

The fireworks really start when Tanner confronts Harvey upon finding out about the criminal allegations filed against Alyssa. Tanner finds the button quickly and proceeds to relentlessly jab at it when he mentions Donna and Harvey’s mother. Harvey sees red and POW! Tanner walks away with a bloodied nose.

Dr. Agard probes Harvey on why he was the aggressor in his current conflict with Tanner, suggesting that Tanner mentioning his mother may be linked to his dreams. She catches Harvey out when he is unable to say he has forgiven his mother. The Doctor challenges Harvey to a game of poker to prove he does have a tell.

Tanner contacts Mike and asks to meet. Mike, unable to reach Harvey, seeks guidance from Rachel and reveals the news about Harvey’s panic attacks. She argues that helping Harvey is the priority and he should go to the meeting.

Meanwhile, Queen Jessica puts pressure on Donna about Louis methods of persuasion. Donna is forced to cave,  and tells Jessica the truth. Jessica demands that Louis go to see her.

Back in therapy, Harvey beats the doctor and asks her to reveal her biggest mistake as a therapist. She eventually opens up and tells Harvey about a patient’s death for which she was responsible. She expects Harvey to share the identity of the woman in his dream but Harvey is adamant he doesn’t know. When told acceptance is the first step, Harvey stays silent and leaves the office.

Mike meets Tanner who tries to appeal to his kind nature. Mike asks him to prove he has changed. He does. In a surprising development, Mike then shows Harvey that his vendetta against Tanner is actually personal when Tanner removes himself from the case. Harvey realizes this and accepts the offer.

Donna finds Louis hiding in storage as he fears the wrath of Jessica. Donna urges Louis to come clean about everything including leaving Harvey’s salary out for the whole office to see. Louis boldly enters her office and comes clean. Jessica shows why she is the first name on the wall by weaving an intricate plan to use Louis’ actions to her advantage, forcing Jack to back down on his salary policy change.

A newly burden-free Louis is overwhelmed when he learns he is going to finally get to mud with not just Donna but Rachel also!

Harvey finally admits the woman in his dream is Donna but feels betrayed when the doctor replies by telling Harvey her true belief that she thinks the woman is Harvey’s mother. Agard tells Harvey that the reason he is alone is because he is harboring repressed mother issues. Harvey refuses to discuss his mother and storms out.

Harvey has taken a step forward in his progression to resolving his issues and then immediately taken 2 steps backward. Will he be able to get past speaking about his mother? Or, will his anxiety continue to interfere with his work?

Trust Becomes a Commodity in SUITS’“Privilege”

By Lewis Richards

This episode picks up right where we left off by recapping Harvey’s explosive therapy session with Dr. Agard, which ended with Harvey storming out, claiming himself and Agard are done.

Back in the moment, Jessica approaches Louis and asks him to help get Jack on team Pearson Specter Litt by not inflaming their relationship any further in classic Louis style. Louis gives Jessica his word, but before he can take another breath, Mike enters the office with the news that he has had a call from Dominic Barone of McKernon Motors (formerly Harvey’s client). Mike takes a cautious approach, fully aware that Louis, under normal circumstances, wouldn’t be able to get past the fact that he wasn’t the first point of contact. Louis puts on a brave face and swallows his pride for less than a minute before revealing his true colors to Donna. She tells him what he needs to hear to approach the case maturely.

Harvey enters the office ready to “drop the hammer” but is intercepted by Gretchen who tells him Sam Tull is waiting in the conference room. Harvey, who is reminded he threatened to kick Tull’s ass the last time the two met, heads to the conference room ready for a fight. After a brief exchange of words, Sam reveals he actually comes in peace and needs Harvey’s help. Harvey accepts but threatens to beat the shit out of Tull if he is lying about his innocence. Best. Lawyer. Ever.

Mike asks for Donna’s help with booking Rachel’s dream wedding venue, a fresh looking Donna seems to have her “Donna” back and happily obliges.

Harvey is still running around town all guns blazing as he hits Paul Gilroy with a hefty counter claim of 30 million dollars for malicious prosecution based on his lawsuit against Tull. He puts Gilroy on the spot and threatens that he can write a small check and take the fine on the chin, or a much larger check, which will be harder to swallow. Harvey resents the ultimatum and leaves.

Louis lets his shiny new persona slip in the meeting with Barone. In a mismanaged attempt to maintain superiority in the room, Louis admits his fault but maintains his point and splits the time consuming due diligence with Mike in order to check that the deal has no rough edges.

Later Louis and Mike both discover a hitch in Barone’s deal. However, ‘Magic’ Mike Ross doesn’t bring problems to the table, he brings solutions. The solution, this time requires Jack Soloff to sign off on the sale of one of his clients. Louis is put in a difficult position and decides it is best if Mike approaches Soloff with the deal. Is Louis finally LISTENING to Queen Jessica?

Donna uses all of her intuition (and name drops Michael Jordan) to gain information, as she quickly notices getting the venue of the wedding on Rachel’s birthday is going to be harder than perhaps she anticipated. Mike catches her making copies of the brochure and calls her out on her failure to secure the date. Donna puts on an act and reassures Mike she has the situation under control.

The tension swiftly rises as Donna and Gretchen come face to face for the first time, a moment we’ve all been waiting for. ITS A DONNA-OFF. Donna becomes defensive as Gretchen reads her seamlessly and continues the assault by reminding Donna who has more experience. Gretchen gets the last word and impresses Donna with a lethal weapon quote. And that’s the round.

During the first deposition with his client, Harvey finds out Sam was in therapy with none other than Agard herself, who is apparently going to be asked testify, as she is under employment of the company. Harvey turns the blazing guns on Agard and demands she gets out of testifying or lies. Harvey questions her trust and storms out.

The seemingly psychic Jack Soloff already knows that Louis and Mike need him to sign off on the Tanaka (his client) sale. Mike gives Soloff the hearty offer of 50% but a bitter Soloff pushes and refuses to sign off for less than 100% commission of the acquisition deal.

After bringing the news of Soloff’s demands, the newly-wise Louis tells Mike to go ahead with the deal in attempt to build trust with Soloff and in turn, Jessica. Mike takes the deal back to Soloff and sets up the meeting with Tanaka.

Despite Mike’s doubts Louis’ efforts to embrace Tanaka’s Japanese heritage for their meeting pay off, leaving Mike speechless.

Meanwhile, Donna goes above and beyond in her efforts to secure the venue as she blackmails the husband of the couple due to wed on Rachel’s birthday with some newly acquired ammunition. Donna’s execution of the threat is masterful.

Agard reluctantly turns up at Pearson Specter Litt to testify. After throwing her patient under the bus, Harvey produces yet another blazing gun and without flinching, proceeds to brutally discredit Agard with the story of her patient’s suicide. But what can we say? Harvey Specter always gets the win.

Mike and Louis share a touching moment and acknowledge they are a great team, only to be fired by Barone seconds later as Tanaka pull out of the deal. I wonder why Tanaka would pull out after being so impressed by Louis? Smells like Soloff.

Louis and Mike confront Soloff who admits that he was the reason Tanaka pulled out of the deal. Louis is firm and points out Soloff’s loss of business. Soloff reiterates his intentions are purely to get even. Mike and Louis have no choice but to take this to the Queen.

Sam Tull gets arrested as the SCC “intervene.” After a conversation with Gilroy, who denies contacting them, Harvey steps up his game and doubles the damage claim against him.

Rachel meanwhile devises a plan in aid of the claim against Gilroy, which forces Harvey to approach Agard. Harvey refuses. Rachel puts Harvey on the spot about his panic attacks and therapy as Harvey tries to make a quick escape down the elevator. However Rachel lets Harvey hear some home truths before letting him go.

Harvey, apparently taking on board what Rachel had to say, bites the bullet and goes to Agard for transcripts of other traders that underwent therapy. During the argument they both realize they are fighting for the same cause in Sam.

Gretchen and Donna reconcile as Donna accepts that Gretchen is Harvey’s secretary and that she has moved on. Move aside #Darvey there is a beautiful friendship blossoming in #Gonna!

Harvey, bites another bullet and admits it’s time to discuss his mother with Agard. Is this the beginning of a new chapter in Harvey’s life? Finally getting to the root of all his issues?

Jessica confronts Soloff and he immediately bites back. Jessica warns Jack against proceeding down the path of challenging her. Does Soloff have the cojones to attempt an assault against the Queen? Is Jessica right about Hardman’s involvement?

The sharks are circling in Suits’ August 12 episode as Jack Soloff and Daniel Hardman team up against Pearson Specter Litt.

It seems this well matched pair will be on the lookout for weaknesses to exploit in an episode titled “Mea Culpa.”

It’s just as well Louis, Harvey and Jessica are all currently seeing eye to eye, right?

Um … well maybe not.

August 5th’s “Hitting Home” will see the return of Ester Litt (recurring guest star Amy Acker), and Louis’ failure to handle her problem discreetly.

Bottom line? Harvey will end up punching Louis, causing a new rift in their already fragile relationship. Don’t go to the dark side, Louis!

Suits Review: Harvey Channels His Mother in “Hitting Home”

By Lewis Richards

Are you still reeling after the events of last night’s Suits episode?

Let’s recap those key events that led to Harvey’s explosion, Jack’s apparent U-turn, and that offer Mike can’t refuse … or bring himself to accept.

“Hitting Home” kicks off with Harvey, who seems to finally be making progress in therapy. We see a key flashback from his childhood as he recalls a specific memory of his mother cruelly manipulating him to cover up her promiscuity. She tells Harvey “Let’s not tell Dad about cousin Scott okay?” As he catches a stranger in her bedroom with her. Agard commends Harvey on his progress.

Meanwhile back at PSL Headquarters, something smells fishy for Mike as a newly reformed Soloff reaches out to him with a case. Mike refuses on the grounds he is unable to trust the other man. Is Soloff really trying to build bridges? Or is this just another part of an evil scheme to get at Harvey and Louis?

Gretchen notices a permanently clear Wednesday in Harvey’s calendar and guesses it’s his birthday. This prompts Harvey to attempt to reignite the #Darvey flame with a traditional dinner. Harvey looks completely at ease and is smoother than ever as he manages to talk Donna into a “just like old times” rendezvous to mend their damaged friendship. Getting his mother issues off his chest seems to have unleashed a cool, fresh and calm Harvey. As much as we enjoy the ruthless lawyer fighting the good fight, it’s great to finally see him find some peace.

A familiar face returns in the form of Daniel Hardman this week, but he is immediately confronted by Jessica who suspects he is colluding with Soloff to damage the firm. Hardman plays innocent (as usual) but admits he knows someone at the firm is leaking information regarding Jessica dropping Fletcher Motors, (it’s that familiar fishy smell again. Soloff?) Hardman reveals he is back in New York for good as he leaves for his new office.

Jessica then confronts Soloff directly about the information leak. Soloff pleas his own innocence in a very similar way to Hardman and insists he is trying to make amends.

Harvey confronts Louis about his mishandling of Dominic Barone and McKernon motors. Louis sets Harvey straight and catches him up on Soloff’s betrayal in the McKernon/Tanaka deal. He reassures Harvey all parties are happy and McKernon is in good hands as he is a great lawyer. Harvey hears Louis out all the way and accepts his word.

Esther the proverbial spanner in the works returns. She’s is being sued by a customer who allegedly suffered a very public allergic reaction to a supposedly nut-less cupcake. She wants to discretely approach Harvey in order to avoid hurting Louis’ feelings. Harvey respectfully and graciously points her in Louis’ direction and advises her to trust him, even going so far as to tell his sister Louis is “a damn good lawyer.”

Esther pushes for Harvey to represent her and Harvey obnoxiously refuses, claiming she just wants to get closer to him. Ego much? No, not ego much, just more genius from Harvey Specter. Boom. Esther realizes Harvey’s egotistical refusal was in aid of the greater good and she goes to her brother for help. Louis is humbled and thanks her for not approaching Harvey instead. Awkward.

Harvey enjoys a light snack in Jessica’s office as she catches him up on current affairs with Jack Soloff. Queen Jessica reveals Mike is acting as her mole to find out if Jack’s reform is genuine and how deep his meetings with Hardman actually go.

Mike and Jack, now bound to work together by the puppet master that is Jessica, have a disagreement on how to approach their case. When Mike’s cockiness appeals to Jack, he agrees to try it Mike’s way. However when Mike’s plans backfire, Soloff undercuts him and agrees to not press criminal charges in exchange for a quicker solution to their problem. Mike is angry at first but apologizes when he realizes Jack’s play gives them a new angle and an even more solid case than they initially had.

#Darvey is having a seemingly delightful time at dinner, when Donna reveals her Donna sense is tingling! She asks Harvey outright about Esther and how Harvey has broken his promise to Louis. Harvey gently asks Donna to stay out of his business without breaking a sweat.

After being humbled and honored that his sister has come to him for help, Louis does the exact opposite of his sister’s instructions and files a counter lawsuit and in turn kicks up a fuss. After an argument, Esther reveals that she approached Harvey first and that Harvey more or less forced her to go to Louis instead. Louis becomes teary when he hears of Harvey’s praise for him. He asks Esther to trust him and Esther agrees. Someone’s about to get LITT UP!

It’s crunch time for the whole team and everyone is on top of their game. Mike plays Jack at his own game when he claims to have obtained the deleted evidence legally only to reveal he got them illegally in the conference room. Jack is angry at first but catches on to Mike’s plan and helps deliver the final blow. It wouldn’t take much to make one of their employees to reveal the evidence was deleted. In another twist of events Mike later reveals that the emails were fabricated and he purposely didn’t let Jack know because he needed him to be genuinely angry. Another lesson learned from Magic Mike’s play book. Jack is genuinely impressed and praises Mikes genius, so much so that Soloff recommends Mike for Junior Partner, a position that is impossible for Mike to take due to his fake law degree.

Meanwhile Louis gets down to business and shows exactly why he’s a “damn good lawyer” Esther gives Louis a heartfelt apology after witnessing him at work, Louis and Esther share a touching sibling moment and arrange dinner the following night, and Donna is invited.

Just as everything seems to be coming together for team PSL, things start to unravel. Soloff is seen trying to cut ties with Hardman in an effort to genuinely reform himself. Hardman doesn’t respond well and starts to play mind games with Soloff. This is definitely not the last we have heard from Hardman.

Donna confronts Harvey about breaking his promise to Louis. After Harvey confides in Agard about the argument with Donna and the promise he broke, she accuses Harvey of emulating his mother’s deceptive ways.

A now furious Harvey is left stewing in his office when Esther enters and asks him out. Harvey, now not looking so peaceful, brutally shuts her down, horrified that their “sneaking around” has made Donna complicit in something less than above board. A heartbroken Esther cancels dinner with Louis and Donna. Louis notices just how upset Ester is. After doing the maths, a furious Louis confronts Harvey about breaking his promise. Harvey tries to explain but everything he says falls on deaf ears as Louis’ rage gets the better of him. Harvey is taunted into punching him then throwing him THROUGH his glass table.

What have you done Harvey? is this the end for team PSL?

It looks like Pearson Specter Litt will be crawling with uninvited guests in August 19th’s episode of the same name.

Our latest from USA Network reveals that Daniel Hardman and Jack Soloff will make their move against both Jessica and the partners, while Harvey and Mike are busy tangling with Hardman’s mysterious backer. Any guesses as to who it might be? Jonathan Sidwell? Forstman? Someone else?

Meanwhile, as Rachel and her mother, Laura Zane, plan for Rachel’s dream wedding, Rachel fears the event may reveal Mike’s secret. Because a wedding is louder than a press release, after all.

And we’ll see Louis working behind the scenes as he tries to find Jack’s Achilles heel.

It’s all happening Wednesday August 19 on USA Network.

SUITS RECAP: Louis’ Plans to Hang Harvey Out to Dry Go Awry

By Lewis Richards

Get ready for all out war. First scene? A seething Louis Litt, threatening to sue Harvey. He’s about to get LITT UP! However, in an attempt to soothe Louis’ bruised ego (read give him enough time to change his mind) Jessica visits Harvey and demands that he should completely admit his fault in the punch up — and take a 2 week vacation. Harvey resists but the Queen has spoken.

Jessica, now running in full damage control mode, goes to Soloff accusing him of nominating Mike for junior — partner just to try to ruffle Harvey’s feathers. Soloff denies it, and insists Mike deserves the promotion. Soloff then reveals he is ready to withdraw his nomination if Harvey wants to be the person to nominate his protégé, after questioning whether Jessica even wants Mike nominated. Realizing she has no other option, Jessica gives her approval of Soloff’s nomination, handing Mile his first case as a newly minted junior partner.

Still looking for his pound of flesh, Louis ambushes Jessica in her office demanding that Harvey be immediately punished. Jessica coolly dismisses him with the “Harvey is on vacation for two weeks” excuse she prepared earlier. Louis storms out.

Meanwhile, just as everything is going so well in the world of Mike Ross, things come crashing down as a blast from the past threatens to expose his ludicrously illegal past. Rachel flips out as she is put on the spot when Claire, the opposing lawyer on Mike’s first case, mentions a bike messenger she used to date. Could this fraudster be our very own Mike Ross? Rachel is left floundering as she covers up her inexperience and the fact she is very well acquainted with Mike.

Taking Jessica up on her (not really a) suggestion, Harvey comes to Louis with a white flag. He reveals his therapy sessions and panic attacks, and offers a heartfelt apology. Louis struggles to keep it together as he accepts Harvey’s apology. But is it enough?

At the board meeting Louis tries to get the fire started by throwing Harvey under the bus. (I guess an honest apology wasn’t enough!) Harvey is saved as the unexpected hero Jack Soloff proves who’s side he is on by turning Louis’ own company bi-laws against him to buy Harvey some time.

Harvey pursues Louis who stands by his war declaration, putting the whole firm in jeopardy. It seems Louis doesn’t buy into Harvey’s explanation, and goes for far as to suggest Harvey made it all up. Even when confronted by Jessica, he states his intention to get Harvey suspended. Later, Donna hits the nail on the head when she openly questions if Louis pushed Harvey too far on the night of the fight. Finally, Mike drops a major Game of Thrones reference as he compares Harvey to Jon Snow, and Louis to the backstabbing Alliser Thorne in Harvey’s brutal betrayal. Louis jokingly brushes it off but is left silent when Mike lays the guilt on. Can he be convinced to change his mind?

Later, Donna finds a Dictaphone recording of Harvey’s confession/apology complete with revelations about his therapy, panic attacks and personal history, which Louis intends to bring to the board as proof of Harvey’s instability. Donna is clearly disgusted that Louis would use Harvey’s vulnerabilities as leverage to humiliate him before his peers, and threatens to leave him. She succeeds in putting Louis under further pressure to reconsider his plans to have Harvey removed.  Louis eventually has a change of heart, and comes to Jessica with his tail between his legs. She tells him the damage is done and leaves a worried Louis alone in the PSL Office. Is it too late to alter the outcome of tomorrow’s vote?

Meanwhile, Soloff reaffirms where his allegiances lie as he warns Harvey that the suspension vote may not go his way. He advises Harvey to do something to humble himself to the board and leaves. Has Jack finally proved he is ready to be part of team Pearson/Specter? It certainly seems so.

However, we later see that Jack is either being threatened or blackmailed by Daniel Hardman into taking action against PSL, and his plans to become a stand up member of PSL start to crack. Jack angrily disposes of the packages he has been sent by Hardman, but it seems his fate (whatever it may turn out to be) is sealed for the moment.

Back on the case, the sharp-eyed Claire notices Mike and Rachel’s alteration surreptitiously removing Mike’s name from the case paper work. It doesn’t take long for Claire to surmise that the Mike Ross attached to this particular case is the same fraudster Mike Ross she once dated, and that his name was removed from the paperwork in a desperate attempt to hide in plain sight. After Rachel becomes visibly distraught and begs Claire not to turn Mike in, Claire reluctantly agrees to say nothing about her knowledge of Mike’s past. However, she later confronts Mike and questions the morality of exposing Rachel by being involved with her.

Can Harvey humble himself sufficiently to sway the vote? Will Louis try to stop it, even if that means losing all credibility? What does Hardman have on Soloff, and what strings is he pulling to get him to sabotage PSL from within?

Next week’s penultimate episode promises to be anything but casualty free.

Suits Review: Hardman Draws First Blood in “Uninvited Guests”

By Lewis Richards

“Uninvited Guests” saw Team Pearson Specter Litt against the ropes as a host of familiar faces made an appearance in Suits’ penultimate episode.

Following a night of unexpected revelations (none of which featured Mike’s fake law degree) heads will inevitably roll in next week’s summer finale. The only question is who’s?

While Louis – and Donna – feel at least semi responsible for all that has happened, Harvey looks like he may be the one to take the bullet if there is no other way to save the firm.

Can Pearson Specter Litt escape Daniel Hardman’s aggressive takeover without losing Harvey in the process?

And will Mike and Rachel’s wedding plans dissolve under the weight of good intentions?

Let’s recap!

The First Cut is the Deepest

It’s Decision Day for Harvey, as the board meets to decide whether to oust him or forgive and forget. Perhaps surprisingly, Harvey is saved by the skin of his teeth when he manages to earn enough votes to avoid being suspended – and make a generous contribution to the partners. Will the newly patched up team PSL be strong enough for the impending Hardman assault?

The predicted attack is revealed when Soloff proposes that Hardman be allowed to return if he shares a billion dollar client with the firm. Jessica refuses to take it to vote and adjourns the meeting. Is Jack just protecting himself? Or is he really committed to his partnership with Hardman?

Jessica, Harvey and Louis now hit the drawing board as war is upon them. Louis approaches Soloff and manages to gather an insight into his motives. Louis desperately tries to redeem himself with his peers as he searches for Daniel Hardman’s leverage over Jack Soloff, but he is left at odds when he finds nothing.

Louis, determined as before to find a way to save the firm, proposes that Jessica make Soloff named partner in exchange for Soloff publicly cutting ties with Hardman.

However, Queen Jessica takes Louis’ plan and twists it, instead deciding to threaten Soloff into confessing what leverage Hardman has over him. It doesn’t work and Soloff further warns Jessica that Hardman and his client won’t back down and it is in fact she who should resign.

Harvey and Mike have better luck as ‘Magic’ Mike hatches an intricate plan to raise the funds to beat Hardman’s offer by playing Tony Giannopoulos and Jonathan Sidwell off against each other. The plan works and they manage to get double what Hardman has to offer.

Meanwhile, Harvey suspects the driving force behind Hardman is a lot closer to home than he is letting on, and pays old foe  Charles Forstman a visit at his minimum security prison. Forstman reveals that he is Hardman’s monetary backer, and that he just wants the pleasure of witnessing Harvey tell Jessica ‘I quit,’ promising him that as soon as he does, he will withdraw Hardman’s funding. Harvey is left with an impossible decision. He must quit PSL in order to save it.

Based from the previews from next week’s episode we are in for quite an explosive finale. Thankfully Jessica has revealed herself as Jesus because team PSL is going to need a miracle.

Suits Finale: Should Donna and Harvey Have Gotten Together?

There was a moment in last night’s episode of Suits in which a desperate and emotional Jessica confided in Donna that she asked Gretchen to find Harvey, but in hindsight, had asked the wrong person.

It was a moment of confirmation for all the Donna and Harvey fans watching that yes, Donna is truly Harvey’s person.

It doesn’t matter that she’s working for Louis, or that she’s now dating someone else (we choose to believe she totally made that guy up just to make Harvey jealous), or that the first half of the season has seen our favorite verbal sparring duo severely at odds with each other. Donna and Harvey share a bond that is unique and unshakable. And of course, Donna did know where Harvey was, because she’s Donna, and Donna knows everything.

It therefore came as a surprise and a disappointment to some fans to see that following a season of will they/won’t they, this couple did not fall into each other’s arms in last night’s finale.

For some, the lack of a satisfying romantic conclusion is a point of vexation that is sure to percolate into season 6. Others meanwhile are content to watch this simmering almost-romance play out over seasons to come. After all, Donna is the epitome of a strong and together woman, while Harvey is currently an emotional mess. Although we may love him, he’s not exactly perfect dating material right now. Additionally, Donna may be happy to learn his therapy is going well, but it doesn’t mean she’s ready to reach out and be vulnerable all over again. And Donna being Donna, is not one to sit around waiting for a phone call. (Hey, maybe that boyfriend is real after all.)

While we were happy to see both Donna and Harvey staying true to character in last night’s highly emotional and flashback-heavy finale, we can’t help but wonder where this could-be couple are headed next season.

Not even Aaron Korsh seems to know for sure.

“The truth of the matter is I do not have an answer to that because I don’t know,” the executive Producer told TVLine in a post-finale interview.

“The story is going to take us where it goes. All of a sudden, one day, something’s going to happen and we’re going to know and then we’ll do it. In terms of major things that have happened in the course of the show, many of them were not pre-planned. Donna getting fired was not pre-planned. It happened during the middle of a rewrite. Mike getting caught was pre-planned at the beginning of this season, but I certainly didn’t know it a year ago. Even Scottie coming in and them trying to make a go of it. So many things that have happened are just in the moment, “We’re going to do this.” If something happens with Harvey and Donna, it’s going to be like that, I think. We’re still working on the back six. You never know. That’s the best I can say.”

One thing is certain. Donna and Harvey will continue to intrigue, frustrate and endear us for some time to come.

A sixth season of Suits, comprising 16 new episodes, will premiere in Summer 2016. Meanwhile, season 5 continues this Winter.

Suits Winter Premiere Teaser: The Firm is Under Attack

Fans of USA Network’s Suits aren’t exactly breathing a sigh of relief today.

Although Harvey managed to pull a Haily Mary by cutting off Daniel Hardman’s funding at the eleventh hour, thus ending his takeover of Pearson Specter Litt, he did so with tremendous loss to his own career.

Can you imagine Suits without Harvey? Neither can we, but stepping down was a prerequisite in saving the firm. Harvey has now surely honored Forstman’s deal, but it seems there is more to come.

And while we’re at it, who is responsible for revealing Mike’s secret? Whoever it was may fully understand that the firm has just been cut off at the knees.

Is there a deeper strategy at play? Have both Harvey and Mike played into a clever trap by doing the honorable thing?

While we may have to wait for the Winter premiere and those last 6 episodes to learn more, the attack on the firm appears to be ongoing, and it looks like we may not have seen the last of Hardman, Forstman and their cronies either. (Remember, we never did find out what Hardman has on Soloff.)

“We are under attack,” says Louis in this latest promo trailer for the as yet untitled 3×11 episode.

“That’s just the tip of the ice-berg,” says Rachel. Yes, we’re aware we’re looking at rehashed material from the 10 episodes we’ve seen already this season, but one thing is perfectly obvious going forward.

Persona Specter Litt never needed Harvey and Mike so badly.

Suits Season Finale Review: Firm or Family?

By Lewis Richards

Suits’ season finale took an unexpected swerve into our characters’ history last Wednesday, as we uncovered the deepest and darkest memories of Harvey, Mike and Jessica. We revisited a young Harvey, dealing with his mother’s infidelities, and conflicted about whether or not to tell his father.

Mike meanwhile was shaken by Trevor’s advice to cut ties with his criminal past by quitting his job. The incident stirred up several unresolved feelings for Mike, who spent the episode haunted by memories of his parents’ death and the life directions he took as a result.

And Jessica, on the verge of losing everything, cast her mind back to a time where she chose her career over her husband.

Back in the present day, Team PSL have their backs to the wall as Hardman’s coerced ally Jack Soloff threatens Jessica’s title as partner in a vote of no confidence. The votes are stacked (marginally but significantly) against Jessica and with Harvey AWOL the time to win the hearts and minds of the undecided voters is fast running out.

Mike pays a visit to old confidant Fr. Sam Walker to repay a longstanding debt that seems to have been looming over him since childhood. While Mike comes to return the money and ask for forgiveness, he also uncovers suppressed feelings from his past. Father Sam questions him and together they delve deeper into his concerns and regrets.

Mike’s trip reveals a lot more than he bargained for as he finally comes to terms with unresolved feelings towards his parents, and his deep rooted anger at having been abandoned.  Mike’s heart breaks and tears flow when he sees a bookshelf lined with the childhood books he attempted to dispose of as a sullen teen.  Finally linking his past fears to his future ones, Mike manages to recognize his issues for what they are, and make a bold leap of faith regarding his future with Rachel and with the firm.

During Harvey’s memories we get an in depth look at his relationships with his parents, particularly his father. Harvey is guilty about not keeping his word to tell his Dad about his mother cheating the next time he caught her. Finally, the guilt of not coming clean is too much, and it all eventually spills out in an emotional sparring match (literally) between father and son. Hopefully Harvey coming to terms with his past will allow him to move on in the present, right?

Jessica is under heavy pressure as she stares a hostile takeover in the face. Jessica and Louis fight for votes and consider other options while Harvey, in therapy, is nowhere to be found. A Furious Jessica threatens Gretchen when she denies knowledge of Harvey’s whereabouts. Louis breaks the news he has managed to not only fail to find out what Hardman has on Soloff but to also loose his very own vote. Jessica can see that Louis intentions are in the right place, seemingly accepting defeat she reassures Louis she will always consider him family. Is Jessica done?

In a tense climax, Jessica foregoes making any manner of case for herself before the vote. She seems utterly defeated.  Soloff too is keen to get underway but Harvey enters with a last minute in the form of a document from Forstman that renders Hardman’s backing funds extinct. He doubles up with a heartfelt speech praising Jessica’s value, and reminding the partners just what kind of people Hardman will do business with. Jessica wins the vote. Everyone except Soloff has her backing. Damn it Jack, you could have been part of the family!

Though Jessica won, there is no happy ending to be had.  Shortly after the vote a newly burdenless Mike hands his letter of resignation to Harvey. Mike is honest about his feelings and Harvey is happy about his decision. Jessica approaches Harvey and asks the question we knew needed to be asked. “How exactly did you get that termination letter from Forstman?”

That’s right, Harvey Specter of PSL, has stepped down. It’s done. Though it’s devastating to the future of PSL it is nice to see Harvey and Mike have closure. At least for a few minutes before the cuffs come out and Mike is arrested for conspiracy to commit fraud! Has someone revealed Mike’s secret? And if so, who?

As you may have guessed — or if you’re reading this after the fact — the Winter Premiere of USA Network’s legal drama Suits will find Patrick J. Adams’ Mike facing his worst fears.

Arrested in the mid-season finale following a tip off from an anonymous insider, Mike is now under investigation for fraud, and pursued relentlessly by ruthless government prosecutor, Assistant US Attorney Anita Gibbs (guest star Leslie Hope).

Now in the February 3rd instalment, it’s Harvey and Jessica’s turn to worry, as Gibbs sets her formidable sights on the two people most complicit in Mike’s lie.

Meanwhile, Mike and Louis must work to identify an anonymous tipster in order to diffuse a damning piece of evidence.

Never a dull moment at Pearson Specter Litt.

“Live to Fight …” airs Wednesday February 2 at 9-10 p.m. ET on USA Network, but if you’re looking for a little extra to tide you over until then, there’s always this just-released gallery of photos from the episode.

SUITS Mid-Season Premiere: Who’s Getting Fired? Who’s Going to Jail?

Suits fans, the long wait is over. The sharply written legal drama returns to our screens tonight, picking up the pieces after Mike’s arrest, an act made all the more shocking by our knowledge that Mike is guilty as charged.

While Mike faces charges too numerous to count (along with 66 years in jail) Jessica, Donna, Louis, Rachel and of course Harvey put their heads together not only to figure out a way to free him, but to find the person responsible for outing him to the authorities.

Meanwhile, both Mike and Rachel face the wrath of Robert Zane, and Jack Soloff looks for a way to permanently profit from the firm’s latest weakness.

We’ve seen the premiere episode “Blowback” a little early and have a number of teasers to share. As always, we don’t reveal major spoilers (you won’t find out who outed Mike here) or plot points that might otherwise ruin your enjoyment of the episode. We want you to enjoy it as much as we did. For that reason, we consider our list to be teasers over spoilers. However, we urge you to exercise your usual degree of caution because it’s the internet, a strange and unpredictable place where weird things occasionally happen, despite good intentions.

Meet Anita Gibbs – an Actual Real Attorney

Meet Anita Gibbs, Assistant US Attorney and chief prosecutor in Mike’s fraud case. Gibbs is the first person a distraught and frightened Mike meets following his surprise arrest in the mid-season finale.

If her opening salvo of “Unlike you, I’m a real attorney,” doesn’t grind your gears, then her devastating follow up “I just wanted you to know I’m the one who’s going to put you in jail,” will certainly help put her character into perspective. As you will see over the course of the season ahead Gibbs will do anything to win.

It looks like Mike and Harvey are facing their toughest case yet. Their first hurdle may be to realize it.

To say you could cut the tension at Pearson Specter Litt with a knife right now would be a bit of an understatement.

Arrests, forced firings of staff by other well intentioned but nonetheless fearful staff (Louis Litt, we’re looking at you) and the looming threat of further indictments have all taken a heavy toll on the firm.

Now with Mike’s trial looming, it’s Harvey and Mike’s turn to feel the squeeze as they fall out over their strategy, and just what lengths they’ll go to in order to defeat the formidable Anita Gibbs.

And don’t expect those differences to fade away. We hear Mike and Harvey’s failure to see eye to eye will cause repercussions further down the line as Mike makes the decision to dump Harvey and represent himself.

Meanwhile, unaccepting of Mike’s wishes, Harvey will do everything in his power to retain the other’s services and beat Gibbs — no matter the cost.

We’ve got a small gallery of just-released photos from the episode to share below, one of which includes Abigail Spencer’s Dana Scott who will return on February 10 to mix things up.

Suits is back and it feels so good!

The same can’t be said for Harvey, Mike, Jessica and the gang who are feeling anything but good in Wednesday’s “Live to Fight …”

It’s definitely Harvey and Jessica’s turn to worry in this February 3rd installment, as Anita Gibbs sets her sights on the two people most complicit in Mike’s lie.

Meanwhile, Harvey is back on his home court with Donna back by his side, but soak up that witty banter while you can Darvey fans, because Anita Gibbs’ next move will hit this newly reconciled pair where it hurts most.

We’ve seen “Live to Fight…” a little early and have a number of teasers to share below.

While we promise never to reveal major spoilers or plot points that might otherwise ruin your enjoyment of the episode (we want you to enjoy it as much as we did.) we urge you to exercise your usual degree of ‘spoiler caution’ with our list because it’s the internet, a strange and unpredictable place where weird things occasionally happen, despite good intentions.

Donna’s Past

“Live to Fight…” is the Donna Flashback-heavy episode you never knew you wanted but will be so glad you got. Prepare to meet teenage Donna and witness the origins of that fierce loyalty that has served both Harvey and the firm so well over the years.

The episode will also further explore Donna’s past relationship with Harvey, and we’ll see firsthand the lengths Harvey has gone in the past to protect her.

Suits fans, let’s face it. Mike’s arrest and fraud trial has hit Pearson Specter Litt where it really hurts.

While it’s true we may have seen the firm face equally (and in some cases tougher) challenges in the past, we’ve never witnessed the team so at odds with each other as they are right now.

Recent Suits episodes have seen just how effectively US Attorney and chief prosecutor Anita Gibbs (guest star Leslie Hope) has sown seeds of doubt and mistrust among Mike’s friends and colleagues.

Now regardless of whether they genuinely fear prosecution themselves (Jessica), or have decided to take a bold stand in support of Mike (Harvey), the pressure is still unrelenting.

While February 10th’s “God’s Green Earth” will see Harvey and Mike falling out over their strategy, and just what lengths they’ll go to in order to defeat the formidable Anita Gibbs, “Self Defense,” airing February 17, will see  Mike attempting to upset his own apple-cart.

According to the latest from USA, with time fast running out before the trial, Mike will voice his desire to  represent himself while Harvey will insist on leading the charge.

To decide the issue, Harvey will challenge Mike to a winner takes all showdown, but will either of these two friends be content to be a gracious loser?

Find out when the “Self Defense” episode of Suits airs on Wednesday February 17 on USA Network. But if you really can’t wait that long, we’ve got 20 new photos from the episode to share in our gallery below.
