SUITS 5×15 IMAGES: “Tick Tock”

Suits fans, we may still be a couple of weeks away from the penultimate episode of the season (don’t worry the show is returning for a sixth season, summer 2016), but while we spend the next couple of episodes fretting over Mike’s fate, there’s always these just-released stills from the installment to help ease the stress.

We always knew this season would end in a courtroom, and these first look photos from Feb. 24th’s “Tick Tock” do not disappoint.

The Network recently teased in a series of brief log-lines that the episode will see Louis considering an offer of immunity from Anita Gibbs.

Meanwhile, in serious need of some crowd-pleasing techniques, Mike will turn to Rachel for some advice on how to win over the people in the courtroom.

And lastly, Donna will beg a hot-headed Harvey not to do anything rash.

We’re unsure at this point if Mike will ultimately choose to represent himself, or if he’s acting as second chair to Harvey (future episodes will reveal this fraught pair’s differences when it comes to their defense), but the photos show Mike and Harvey firmly united and on the warpath.

There are witnesses crying on the stand, surprise pieces of evidence, a rather concerned looking Rachel, and a cool as ever Anita Gibbs. Is Louis really the ace in her sleeve?

“Tick Tock” airs Wednesday, February 24 (9-10 p.m. ET) on USA Network, to be followed by the Season 5 Finale on March 2nd.

SUITS Exclusive: It’s Mike Vs Harvey in “Self Defense”

Think you’ll have to wait until the season finale to see Mike stand trial for fraud?

Think again, Suits fans, because in a mile a minute episode this Wednesday, you’ll see just that.

Last week we saw Mike falling out with Harvey over the issue of whether or not he should represent himself.

This week, to decide the matter, Harvey challenges Mike to ‘winner takes all’ showdown (more on that deliciousness below) in which the victor will lead the charge.

However when lead prosecutor Anita Gibbs successfully moves the trial date forward by two weeks, Mike, Harvey, Jessica and Louis are left floundering over a series of cover-ups, failed stop-gap measures and internal conflicts that leaves their flank seriously exposed.

Meanwhile Rachel faces an emotional attack on two very unexpected sides.

We’ve seen a special Producer’s cut of the episode a little early and have a number of teasers to share with you below. As always, despite our gushing enthusiasm, we’ve held back on major plot points and reveals that might otherwise ruin your enjoyment on the night. However, as the saying that we’ve just made up goes: one man’s tiny teaser is another man’s giant flaming spoiler. This is the internet. And who are these ScreenSpy people anyway? Proceed with caution.

Louis Issues an Ultimatum

There’s no doubt Louis’ recent attempts to make Sheila Zass recant, retract or otherwise repent for outing Mike have only made matters worse.

But stand by, folks because things are about to get a whole lot worse for Louis in “Self Defense.”

Now dodging allegations of witness tampering (Everybody wave to Sheila in Argentina!), Louis is about to come under the spotlight in a whole new and deeply personal way.

The squeeze will prompt him to confront Jessica with a very particular demand, but will she have his back when he needs her most?

It’s been a season of real surprises, displays of fierce loyalty and crushing betrayals, heartache and uncertainty, but all good (and bad) things must come to an end.

Yes, Suits’ fifth season is finally drawing to a close.

The season goes out with a spectacular final episode, “25th Hour,” on March 2, and a story that will conclude the fraud case that has been disrupting the lives of just about everyone at Pearson Specter Litt.

USA Network simply teases the Spring finale as follows:

As Mike’s day of reckoning draws near, it threatens to shatter the lives of those closest to him. Faced with the uncertain outcome of his court battle, Mike makes the one play he has left.

Suits’ “25th Hour” airs Wednesday, March 2 (9-10 p.m. ET) on USA Network, but while we’re waiting, there’s always these newly-released photos from the episode to keep us going.

In news that’s sure to please Suits fans everywhere, USA Network announced today that the series is set to return for its sixth season on Wednesday, July 13 at 9/8c.

The Universal Cable Productions series will be the lead-in to the previously announced second season of Mr. Robot on Wednesdays at 10/9c.

For the past five seasons, Suits has centered on the fast-paced Manhattan corporate law firm, Pearson Specter Litt, led by legendary lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and his not-so-legitimate associate Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), but after last season’s dramatic turn of events, everything has changed.

Season 6 begins immediately following the events of the shocking Season 5 cliffhanger that left Mike behind bars. After signing a plea deal to spare his colleagues at Pearson Specter Litt, Mike will be confronted with the harsh realities of prison life as he starts his two-year sentence.

Meanwhile, the once bustling Pearson Specter Litt offices are a ghost town – the partners have defected, leaving Harvey, Jessica (Gina Torres), Louis (Rick Hoffman), Donna (Sarah Rafferty) and Rachel (Meghan Markle) to pick up the pieces.

But the firm’s troubles are far from over and they will have to deal with the fallout from Mike’s crime before they can even begin to rebuild.

This season, Suits welcomes previously announced new recurring stars including Erik Palladino (ER, 666 Park Avenue), Paul Schulze (Nurse Jackie) and Malcolm Jamal Warner (American Crime: The People vs. OJ Simpson, House of Lies).

Catch a season 6 sneak peek below.

SUITS: Exclusive Scoop on the Season 6 Premiere

In an open letter to ScreenSpy and other online media, Suits creator and EP Aaron Korsh recently questioned the “foolishness” of “blow[ing] up the show during the last six episodes of Season 5,” leaving the lives of our favorite characters shattered, and questioning if they will be able to pick up the pieces when the show returns to USA Network on Wednesday.

It’s a good question, and one fans have been mulling over for several months. Lest we forget, the finale saw Mike and Rachel’s wedding plans indefinitely postponed as Mike took the fall to protect those he had come to call family over the last five years.

But while Mike’s future now looks set in stone, Jessica, Harvey, Louis, Donna and Rachel face the biggest uncertainty of their lives as PSL stands on the brink of total collapse.

Was it worth it? Can the firm come back from the precipice? Korsh promises us that he will answer those questions with “as many twists, turns and complications as possible.”

He isn’t kidding. We’ve screened the premiere episode and we can tell you the fun (if you can call what you’re about to see Wednesday as ‘fun’) is just beginning.

53296, A Prison Movie

Despite Shawshank references aplenty (well, how could they not?), Mike will be constantly reminded that his stay in prison — complete with haircut, tiny prison cell, dubious company and more — is no prison movie.

However, while you won’t see Mike hiding a tunnel to freedom behind a poster of Rita Hayworth any time soon, you can expect his stay to have its share of prison movie drama after all.

In short, if you thought that Mike’s season 6 storyline would be in any way sidelined by his incarceration, you may have to think again.

Suits makes a return to USA Network this Wednesday with “To Trouble” (that’s Mike’s new nickname, FYI. We think it suits him. Here’s to you, Trouble!).

The episode will see, in the aftermath of Mike’s plea deal and sentencing, Jessica, Harvey, Rachel, Louis and Donna attempting to make sense of their new situation.

With Pearson Specter Litt practically a ghost town, no funds with which to support themselves, and no friends to bail them out, the future looks decidedly grim.

Not only that, but as new threats circle the crumbling firm, old tensions between Louis and Harvey threaten to tear an already fractured family further apart.

Guys! If Mike could only see you now!

And as Mike settles into his new life behind bars, Rachel discovers that being his fiancee is a more tenuous position than she thought.

Jessica, Harvey and Louis may have barely scraped together the funds they need to keep Pearson Specter Litt afloat, but their troubles are far from over, as July 20th’s episode of Suits reveals.

“Accounts Payable” will see PSL fending off that class action lawsuit from the firm’s former clients that almost persuaded Jessica to throw in the towel in July 13th’s season premiere.

Will Louis’ genius solution work? Or will our trio be forced to fund their lawsuit from their own pockets?

Meanwhile, Mike, who didn’t follow the “Don’t trust anyone” advice of fellow bunkmate turned enemy Frank Gallo, finds himself running afoul of a fellow prisoner due to reasons beyond his own control.

Will Gallo’s methods force Harvey to come to Mike’s aid? And how far will Gallo go to exact revenge upon the man who put him behind bars?

It’s all happening in “Accounts Payable” airing July 20th on USA Network.

SUITS: Hard Lessons are Leaned in “Accounts Payable”

Despite those season premiere assurances that “This isn’t a prison movie” some Suits fans found themselves questioning that assertion in last night’s episode “Accounts Payable.”

Corrupt guards, evil henchmen, a powerful con with the run of the prison, a firm but likeable prison counsellor and an almost-shivving set a Shawshank-like tone for an hour in which Mike struggled to find his feet behind bars, while Harvey tried to remove the threat of (possibly murderous?) inmate Frank Gallo, while keeping Rachel in the dark.

While Mike was fighting for his life, Jessica was fighting for her firm, electing to use PSL’s partner buy-in fund to settle the firm’s class action law suit.

And while the action rankled with the firm’s former partners, one in particular felt the sting more than others. Jack Soloff’s plight placed Jessica in an untenable position. To personally give him the money he needed to buy his way into a partnership with Robert Zane’s company would open her up to other partners seeking redress in the same way. To leave Jack out in the cold, would surely ruin his career.

Overall, it was a night of learning how best to play ball on both sides of the prison bars.

Just Another Prison Movie?

“Donna, cancel my afternoon!”

And with words, Harvey Spector stormed Danbury prison, filled with the conviction he had what it took to save Mike from whatever dilemma he had gotten himself into during his first night in jail.

As it turned out, Harvey proved to be just as hot-headed as Mike (surprise much?) where troublesome inmate Frank Gallo was concerned, and lost his cool in pretty much the same manner as Mike.

Not only that, but Harvey’s head-on charge, so effective in the courtroom, only served to anger Gallo further, prompting him to attempt to stab Mike at an opportune moment later. Mike was saved by the intervention of Danbury’s single decent prison guard, and his actual bunkmate, Kevin, who let’s face it, will probably face Gallo’s wrath in a future episode if the show sticks to its prison formula.

Mike’s learning curve has been a steep one, but for now, he’s made a friend behind bars (a real one), and has figured out how to work within the system. (Prison advice: If you’re about to be shivved by goons and guards suddenly burst in and ask what’s going on, act natural and pretend everything’s ok. It will somehow save your life because there’s nothing prison inmates respect more than secrecy.)

An in a parallel curve, Harvey also found himself leaning on someone in order to use the system to his advantage. Federal prosecutor and former adversary Sean Cahill may know someone who knows someone who can move Gallo to a new prison, but at what cost? Will Cahill attempt to stab Harvey in the back at a later date?

If Harvey Specter owed you a favour, what would you ask for?

Friends in High Places

While Mike found friends in low places, Jessica, moving in higher circles, learned her own lesson about friendships — as in, it’s important to maintain one or two, especially in troubling times.

With Robert Zane doing Jessica a solid in order to save her firm, it was Jessica’s turn to realize how important paying it forward actually is. Her totally above-board loan to Zane allowed the cash-strapped Jack Soloff to buy his way into a partnership at his new firm. All’s well that ends well? Right, Jack?

SUITS: Harvey & Jessica Attempt to Put the Firm “Back on the Map”

It looks like Mike’s 2 year stint in a ‘soft’ prison is turning out to be anything but.

Episode 2 of the new season of USA Network’s Suits’ saw Mike almost shivved by fellow inmate Frank Gallo in retaliation for Harvey’s meddling.

Murderous Frank is willing to do just about anything to get back at the man who put him behind bars, and seriously injuring Mike — or worse — is something we’ve seen firsthand is definitely within the scope of his imagination.

Episode 6×03 “Back on the Map,” a reference to Pearson Spectre Litt’s changing fortunes, will see Jessica and Harvey, fresh from their tussle with the firm’s senior partners and the issues of settlement funds, attempting to land a whale — one who could definitely put the firm back in the map.

Will the many favors Jessica and Harvey called in to save both the tarnished reputations of Mike and the firm recently prove to be a help or a hindrance to their business efforts moving forwards? Can Jessica call Jack Soloff a friend, finally? And what return will Federal prosecutor Sean Cahill demand from Harvey for his efforts in relocating Gallo?

Meanwhile, as Louis searches for a new office tennant, as per Jessica’s suggestion, Rachel finds herself up against a fellow student.

And last but not least, in Danbury, Mike still struggles to stay safe without violating any of the prison’s many unwritten rules.

Just watch The Shawshank Redemption, Mike. Everything you need to know is in there.

There’s many a slip ‘twixt the cup and the lip — meaning we appreciate that we’re writing about “Trust” episode 6×05 of USA Network’s Suits a full day before 6×04’s “Turn” even airs.

And because this is Suits, we understand literally anything could happen in tomorrow’s episode.

While “Turn” will see Mike contemplate a deal that could reduce his sentence but potentially stab his only friend behind bars in the back, Rachel, fresh from her triumph over a vindictive classmate begins representing a death row inmate as part of her Innocence Project work.

However in August 10th’s “Trust” we’ll see Mike working to gain Kevin’s trust, while Harvey enacts a risky plan.

And while Rachel hits a stumbling block, Jessica works to mend the firm’s reputation.

Meanwhile, Louis enlists Donna’s help in a matter of the heart. Who is this Tara person anyway? Color us intrigued!

All that and Alan Rosenberg’s William Sutter making waves for Harvey in the courtroom?

Falling Water, from executive producers Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead) and Blake Masters (Brotherhood), will premiere October 13.

Eyewitness, from executive producer Adi Hasak (Shades of Blue) will bow on October 16.

All three original dramas hail from Universal Cable Productions. The announcements were made at the bi-annual gathering of the Television Critics Association by Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.

ABOUT SUITS

SUITS is currently airing its sixth season, featuring a prison storyline, Wednesdays at 9/8c.

Season 7 will air in 2017.

From the beginning, Suits has centered on the fast-paced Manhattan corporate law firm‎, Pearson Specter Litt — but last season, their world was shaken to its core when Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) signed a two-year plea deal admitting his fraud to spare his colleagues Harvey (Gabriel Macht), Jessica (Gina Torres) and Louis (Rick Hoffman).

In Season 6, Mike deals with the harsh realities of prison life, while his relationship with his fiancé Rachel (Meghan Markle) and the future of the firm is unknown. With Pearson Specter Litt’s troubles at a peak,‎ Donna (Sarah Rafferty) must help bring them all together to not only save the firm, but also the friendships they have all dedicated their entire career and lives to.

From Universal Cable Productions, Suits was created and is executive produced by Aaron Korsh (The Deep End). Doug Liman (Covert Affairs, The Bourne Trilogy, Mr. & Mrs. Smith), David Bartis (Covert Affairs, The O.C.) and Gene Klein (Covert Affairs) of Hypnotic serve as executive producers.

ABOUT FALLING WATER

Premieres Thursday, October 13 at 10/9c.

The series, from Universal Cable Productions, is executive produced by Hurd of Valhalla Entertainment, Masters and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) who also directed the pilot.

ABOUT EYEWITNESS

Premieres Sunday, October 16 at 10/9c.

Eyewitness is a bone-chilling crime thriller that delves into the lives of two teenage boys after they secretly meet up in a cabin, bear witness to a shooting and barely escape with their lives.

Desperate to keep their relationship a secret and in fear of being found by the perpetrator, they remain silent but soon learn that what has been seen cannot be unseen — and when you witness a horrible event, it changes everything.

Gina Torres Lines Up Next Gig Following SUITS Departure

Following on from last’s night’s written-on-the wall exit from USA Network’s Suits, Gina Torres already has her next role lined up.

The Firefly and Hannibal star will join the ABC/Shonlaland drama The Catch in a recurring guest role when it returns for its sophomore run sometime mid-season.

Suits creator and show runner Aaron Korsh revealed in an interview with THR late yesterday, that Torres wanted out of her role in order to achieve a work/life balance. (Suits is filmed in Toronto Canada, while Torres makes her home in LA.)

But while Jessica Pearson may have had her happy ending — leaving the firm and taking off to Chicago with her on-again-off-again flame Jeff Malone (D.B. Woodside) — Korsh admitted he originally wanted a much darker exit for the founder of Pearson Specter Litt.

“It was out there that Gina had taken this pilot, so people knew that if the pilot went, there was a good chance she’d be leaving,” Korsh told the magazine.

“In my mind, Jessica was going to make this decision to go off into the sunset with Jeff Malone, and that father Larry Marsden (Colin Glazer), who was a little bit crazy and accosted Rachel and got broken on the stand, was going to bring a gun and go nuts and kill her. I didn’t think we were going to see it; we were going to hear about it. It was going to shatter everyone and we were going to do a two-year time jump afterwards.”

Kirsch went on to reveal that the network nixed his plan.

Of course, a very much alive Jessica Pearson leaves the door open for the actress to make a Suits return at some point in the show’s future. (Suits was recently renewed for a 7th season by USA Network.)

“It does absolutely leave the door open for her to come back,” said Korsh. “The door was still open for her to come back because we do flashbacks. They’re in the DNA of the show.”

The Catch, starring Mireille Enos and Peter Krause, follows LA’s top private investigator who is conned out of millions by her fiancee, and embarks on a private mission for payback.

Prince Harry Defends Girlfriend Meghan Markle Amid Media Harassment

In an official statement this morning, Kensington Palace officially confirmed that Suits actress Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are dating.

The confirmation came with strongly worded plea from the palace for the British tabloid press to stop their extraordinary “abuse and harassment” of Markle, her friends and her family.

“But the past week has seen a line crossed,” the statement reads.

“His Girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment. Some of this has been very public – the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments. Some of it has been hidden from the public – the nightly legal battles to keep defamatory stories out of papers; her mother having to struggle past photographers in order to get to her front door; the attempts of reporters and photographers to gain illegal entry to her home and the calls to police that followed; the substantial bribes offered by papers to her ex-boyfriend; the bombardment of nearly every friend, co-worker, and loved one in her life.”

“Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm. He knows commentators will say this is “the price she has to pay” and that “this is all part of the game.” He strongly disagrees. This is not a game – it is her life and his.”

The full statement follows below.
